Every person not yet confirmed can and should receive the sacrament of Confirmation.  Persons must be at least 14 years of age or in the 8th grade.  The reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace.  Once confirmed, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit.

For persons aged 14-17, preparation classes for this sacrament start every year at the beginning of September.  The sacrament of Confirmation is received at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Grand Rapids in the spring.  Because a wide range of lessons is covered in each class, weekly class attendance is mandatory.  Students should have a basic understanding of the Catholic faith and attend Mass regularly before starting preparation for this Sacrament.

Registrations begin in August. For further information, please contact Minette Perigard by calling (231) 893-3085 by email here.

Adults, (age 18 and older) also receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Spring at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Grand Rapids. If you are an adult looking to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, please contact Minette Perigard in the parish office by calling (231) 893-3085 by email here to discuss preparation options.
